My best friend, and the inspiration behind Barkdales!

 

Pepper is a miniature schnauzer who came to me as a rescue dog when she was only five weeks old. She’s two and a half now and the absolute light of my life! She has boundless affection for everyone she meets and there isn’t a day goes by where she doesn’t fail to make me smile. Pepper accompanies me almost everywhere I go, and is well socialized on buses, trains, and long car journeys. She loves meeting new people, and often wants to say hello to everyone. Pepper loves walks and gets extremely excited – she also makes quite a racket if she meets another dog, especially if they do not want to say hello to her! She is joyful, and loves to play with other dogs her own size.

Due to our close relationship, looking for someone to care for her when I wasn’t around was extremely difficult. My family helps out where they can, and I tried out many different professional care options. The idea of Barkdales grew out of my own experiences. I wanted a daycare where I knew Pepper was getting the attention she deserved while I could not be there with her. I wanted daily updates of who she played with and how she coped that day. I also loved the idea of her being with dogs of equal size and energy to ensure she was happy. All of these hopes and details have come together in the bespoke service offered by Barkdales. We focus on the individual needs of you and your dog. No request is too much when it comes to your dog’s welfare!
