Welcome to Barkdales.
Barkdales has officially been awarded the highest possible rating of 5 stars by Stockport council for our fabulous day care facilities.
We are a unique daycare exclusively for small breeds. Our services are tailor-made meaning we adjust daily activities to mirror the home routine which your pet knows and loves. We only accept a maximum of 10 dogs each day, ensuring no overcrowding and lots of company for your little one. We always have at least 2 members of the team each day ensuring that your pets receive plenty of attention, individual care and lots of love.
You can find us conveniently located opposite Hazel Grove train station, with lots of free parking right outside.
What makes us special?
Barkdales offers a safe, secure, loving and stimulating environment for your dogs. During the day your best friend can choose from a wide range of activities, including walking in the local parks, playing in the gym area, and joining in with sensory activities. Dogs have access to an abundance of dog toys, constant access to the fully enclosed garden and sensory area as well as some lovely comfy sofas and chairs and obviously the ever available laps of our team members.
An individual care plan is designed to suit the needs and behaviours of each dog. Individual apartments are available, which the dogs are free to retreat to if they need a bit of quiet time. Those who require a little bit of security can also bring their own blankets and toys to help them feel right at home. The apartment doors are only closed if the care plan requests a separate place to eat or sleep during the day.
No day is ever the same at Barkdales – we love to theme our activities around the different seasons throughout the year and celebrate occasions such as birthdays.
Due to only taking 10 dogs a day we only enrol dogs for a minimum of one set day a week. Meaning if you only need care on an ad hoc basic (days of the week will change) we can not accommodate.
Our enrolment process starts with a meet & greet which take place on Mondays between 18:30pm and 20:00pm. This is your chance to see our facilities, meet the team and ask any questions you may have. Meet & greets are a great way for us to get to know you and your dog and fully understand the care they require. They also allow us to assess your dog as to whether we think our daycare would suit their needs.
The next step would be booking a trial day, preferably a day you are available to collect the dog just in case they don’t settle. An enrolment form would also need to be completed and proof of vaccinations.
After the trial day, we can then enrol your pup as a Barkdales member!

Meet The Team
Hi I'm Ellie, owner and creator of Barkdales.
You’ll meet me during the Enrolment process and I’ll be on hand throughout your dogs day with us. My job is to ensure both pup and parent are happy with our services!
Ellie joined with us in June and has been a wonderful addition to the team!
You will probably all have met her by now as she is often front of house. If she’s not cuddling the dogs she’s singing and dancing around the daycare! Our real life Cinderella! Her little niece is also destined to become a Barkdales team member.
Sophie has been with us from the beginning! She has an incredible bond with the dogs and is always on hand to settle them in!
She keeps everyone entertained and happy during drop off and pick ups. She is also a fellow schnauzer parent to Milo!
Eve has been with us from
the very beginning. Always early and never wants to leave, she loves spending the day with all our doggie guests. The first person I ever trusted to look after my own dog Pepper! She usually assists Sophie during drop off and pick ups or helps with the walking during the day!
