Barkdales has officially been awarded the highest possible rating of 5 stars by Stockport council for our fabulous day care facilities.
We are a unique daycare exclusively for small breeds. Our services are tailor-made meaning we adjust daily activities to mirror the home routine which your pet knows and loves. We only accept a maximum of 10 dogs each day, ensuring no overcrowding and lots of company for your little one. We always have at least 2 members of the team each day ensuring that your pets receive plenty of attention, individual care and lots of love.
You can find us conveniently located opposite Hazel Grove train station, with lots of free parking right outside.
What makes us special?
Barkdales offers a safe, secure, loving and stimulating environment for your dogs. During the day your best friend can choose from a wide range of activities including playing in the gym area and joining in with sensory activities. Dogs have access to an abundance of dog toys, constant access to the fully enclosed garden and sensory area as well as some lovely comfy sofas and chairs and obviously the ever available laps of our team members.
An individual care plan is designed to suit the needs and behaviours of each dog. Individual apartments are available, which the dogs are free to retreat to if they need a bit of quiet time. Those who require a little bit of security can also bring their own blankets and toys to help them feel right at home. The apartment doors are only closed if the care plan requests a separate place to eat or sleep during the day.
No day is ever the same at Barkdales – we love to theme our activities around the different seasons throughout the year and celebrate occasions such as birthdays.
Enrolment.
Our enrolment process starts with a one-hour trial on the day you require. This is so our team can assess your dog in our day care and be sure we meet their needs before starting the enrolment process. Your dog will have a member of staff on a 1:1 basis for the hour to ensure they are settling in.
After a successful hour trial we can then enrol your pup or place them on the waiting list for a space. We will also offer you an introduction session where you can bring your dog into Barkdales after hours, to meet the team, see our facilities and discuss your dogs needs in-depth.

Monday: 7:30am to 6pm
Tuesday: 7:30am to 6pm
Wednesday: 7:30am to 6pm
Thursday: 7:30am to 6pm
Friday: 7:30am to 6pm
We welcome you to drop off your dogs between 07:30am and 09:30am and pickup between 16:00pm and 18:00pm.
Outside of these times we are strictly appointment only - if you wish to drop off or pickup your dog at any other time or come and chat to us you can arrange this by talking with us.
Meet & Greet
If this is the first time we've met you and your VIP (Very Important Pooch) please book a Meet & Greet. This is a half an hour session for you to come and meet the Barkdales team, take a tour of our unique daycare and your chance to ask us any questions you may have.
Meet & Greet Sessions take place on Mondays between 6:30pm and 8pm.
